Your visit includes the main excavation pits and site museum, Among the three pits, No.1 pit is the largest one. More than 6,000 clay warriors and horses
could be unearthed from No.1 pit. All of them are lige-like. The terra-cotta warriors and horses are arrayed in an oblong battle formation of the Qin dynasty, facing east,
they look healthy and strong and have different facial expressions, showing Emperor Qinshihuang’s strong determination of wiping out the other six states and unifying the
whole country. It is also a reflection of Chinese people’s wisdom and artful skill 2,000years ago. Thousands of real weapons were unearthed from these terra-cotta army
pits. These weapons were exquisitely made. Some of them are still very sharp since their surfaces were treated with chromium. They are as bright as new, though buried
underground for more than 2,000 years. This indicates that Qin dynasty’s metallurgical technology and weapon-manufacturing technique already had reached quite a high
level. In 1980, two teams of large painted bronze chariots and horses were unearthed 20 meters west of the mausoleum. Together with the Terra-cotta warriors, they are
called the eighth wonder of the world. And then visiting Huajuexiang Grand Mosque , the largest mosque in Xi’an with a history of more than 1000 years , was built in China prosperous period of Tang

province, which is often referred to as the heart of the ‘Chinese Silk Road’. The Hui are one of China’s largest minority groups, one of the 55 officially recognized non-Han
population groups. The Hui are found throughout China, from the modern urban sprawl of Shanghai and Beijing, to lonely desert outposts of the far west. Their origins are
obscure but it is believed that the Hui are the descendants of two migrations into China; the first during the Tang Dynasty (618–907), when Persian and central Asian
traders settled along the caravan routes leading into Xian. They married Han women but continued their adherence to Islam.

The second wave occurred during the later Yuan Dynasty (1279–1368), the period of Mongol rule over China when the Mongols brought in thousands of central Asian (i.e.
Muslim) soldiers to bolster frontier defense. This second wave of Muslim men intermarried with local Han women consolidating this new community. Through the course of
Chinese history the Hui have prospered within the great Chinese family, appearing as small businessmen in major cities and filling the ranks of imperial armies. Southern
Gansu has a localized but strongly Orthodox population of Hui, who speak Chinese but embrace the teachings of Islam, abstaining from pork and alcohol and observing the
festivals and tenets of their faith.
